Horse Riding & Yoga
in Ibiza
Horse riding, yoga, being outdoors, enjoying unspoiled nature, having time for yourself, discovering Ibiza, reconnecting with yourself. Soak up some real warmth in the south, relax, jump into the pool, lie on the beach, take a deep breath, and feel the peace and magical energy of the island. Once a day, we practise yoga together; in the afternoon, you either go horse riding or have the afternoon free at your disposal. Early summer is the perfect time for the island: it is still green, while the sun is already strong enough for swimming in the sea and the pool, the beaches are not yet too crowded, and the true beauty of the place reveals itself in all its splendour. We spend our time in the central to north-western part of the Balearic island, which is characterised by its authenticity and wild, romantic landscapes. The perfect opportunity if you need peace, tranquillity, and time for yourself.

It was a lot of fun and very beneficial.
And it was exactly the right timing. I met wonderful people and I am sure I will stay in touch with some of them. But as Catherine so beautifully put it: “Nothing gold can stay.” So we will keep it in good memory; no one can take that away from us.
It is lovely to see how Catherine follows her passion and puts her heart into the retreats, how she connects with each person individually, and especially how she consistently points out the different levels during yoga and helps everyone progress.
I will definitely come back!
Program
Day 1
You arrive in Ibiza, take off your jacket and put on your flip-flops. Your break can begin! We open the retreat with a shared dinner at our romantic 400-year-old finca in the northwest of Ibiza. We get to know each other, and after a delicious meal, everyday life back home is quickly forgotten. By the time we reach the welcome meditation, you are fully on Ibiza and have arrived in your retreat. Tired and happy, we fall into our beds and can hardly wait for the morning.
Individual arrival (earlier arrival possible upon request)
17:30 – Welcome & followed by a shared dinner
21:00 – Welcome meditation
Day 2
The birds are chirping, you yawn, stretch, and make your way through the garden to yoga. We greet the sun, flow through strengthening vinyasas, feel the energy of the island, recharge with pranayama breathing exercises, and afterwards enjoy a lovingly prepared brunch. On three afternoons, you have the opportunity to go to the riding stable; the other free afternoon is yours to spend as you wish — a day by the pool, a visit to the beach, a massage, exploring the island, or whatever you feel like.
8:30–10:00 – Yoga
10:00 – Shared brunch
16:30 – Departure for riding or free afternoon
20:30 – Shared dinner
Day 3
As on the other days, we start the morning with something good for you — today in a special way. The day begins with a Sound & Breath Journey with Mishka. You lie on a mat among trees and meadows, surrounded by horses, dogs, and cats. The sound of singing bowls fills the morning silence, your breath deepens, and your mind becomes calmer. Through gentle sounds and mindful breathing, you arrive fully within yourself — a magical beginning. The healthy, delicious cuisine by Zuzanna nourishes you and gives you new energy. The free time after brunch feels restorative — you are simply allowed to be. In the evening, we enjoy our shared dinner at the finca and let the day fade away under the starry sky.
8:45–10:15 – Sound & Breath Journey
11:00 – Shared brunch
16:30 – Departure for riding or free afternoon
20:00 – Shared dinner
Day 4
As on the other days, we begin the morning with movement. The yoga session is specifically tailored for riders — it prepares your body for riding and releases tension. The focus is on balance, strengthening, and gentle stretching. Afterwards, Zuzanna’s lovingly prepared cuisine awaits — nourishing, colorful, and full of flavor. The free time after brunch is entirely yours: to simply be, to feel, to breathe. In the evening, we gather in the finca garden for dinner.
8:30–10:00 – Yoga
10:00 – Shared brunch
16:00 – Departure for riding or free afternoon
20:00 – Shared dinner
Day 5
On this day, we begin with a special dance and movement session: 5Rhythms with Sandra. Barefoot, free, and without instructions, you move — not in steps, but in sensing, letting go, and arriving in your own body. This practice strengthens presence, body awareness, and inner rhythm — qualities that are also central to riding and yoga. After a nourishing brunch, you have time for yourself — perhaps with a relaxing massage. Later in the afternoon, we ride through pine forests and across open fields. In the evening, we enjoy Zuzanna’s delicious cuisine together — fresh, creative, and prepared with lots of love.
8:30–10:00 – Dance & movement session
10:30 – Shared brunch
16:30 – Departure for riding or free afternoon
20:00 – Shared dinner
Day 6
“Nothing gold can stay.” This retreat is slowly coming to an end as well. After yoga, we enjoy one last “I-could-get-used-to-this” brunch and a closing ceremony. Afterwards, we go our separate ways — what remains are the bonds we have formed, the unique experiences and memories, as well as the lingering magic of Ibiza and the feeling of letting go of everything else and being fully in the here and now.
8:30–9:30 – Yoga
10:00 – Shared brunch & closing ritual
Individual departure (later departure possible upon request)
11:30 – Official end

Your Guide: Catherine
Accompanied by your guide: 23–28 May 2027 (EN) and 6–11 June 2027
I am Catherine, your guide and yoga teacher for this Riding & Yoga Retreat. My love for horses is as old as I am, and working with these beautiful animals is part of my life. I have been practising yoga since 2000, have completed more than 800 hours of yoga teacher training (mostly in India), and I am a certified Shiatsu therapist and coach. Since 2013, I have been regularly leading retreats in Switzerland and abroad, and I love sharing my passion for riding and yoga.
In my work, I place particular emphasis on the personal needs and development opportunities of each participant. Travelling, nature, and discovering special places fill me with great enthusiasm. For me, the “energy” of a place has to feel right. The finca Can Sopas and its surroundings are two of these atmospheric gems, where everything harmonises and where it is easy to relax and unwind.
Your guide: Alissa
Accompanies you during yoga: 23–28 May 2027 (EN) - guides the entire retreat and accompanies you in yoga: 30 May – 4 June 2027
My name is Alissa. Horses have accompanied me throughout my entire life. Since childhood, riding has been an integral part of my everyday life and has shaped me deeply, not only athletically but also personally. Over many years, I have gained extensive experience and developed a fine sense for horses, as well as a safe, calm, and mindful riding style. I am particularly fascinated by the connection between horse, human, and nature — this feeling of being on the move together, reducing everything to the essentials, and arriving fully in the present moment. These experiences have repeatedly taken me to special places around the world. My experience in guiding rides and my intensive work with horses in different environments have profoundly shaped and deepened my connection to horses, nature, and mindful travel.
Yoga is, for me, the ideal complement to riding. Both paths promote presence, body awareness, clarity, and inner calm. In my teaching, I combine dynamic Vinyasa flows with calm, restorative sequences. This creates a balanced practice that strengthens power, stability, and flexibility as well as ease and subtle awareness — with a special focus on the needs of riders.
At the Riding & Yoga Retreats, I accompany guests as a guide in both yoga and riding. This creates a holistic experience that invites you to rediscover yourself in movement and stillness — in connection with the horses, nature, and a clear, mindful presence.

I have always been driven by curiosity — about people, different ways of life, and the question of what truly connects us with ourselves and with one another. In recent years, I have spent a lot of time travelling, living and working in surf camps, hostels, and riding stables, and through this I have come to know people and cultures in many different ways. These experiences have repeatedly shown me that the most meaningful moments are often the simplest: a conversation with a stranger, a shared meal, a sunrise by the sea, or the feeling of being fully present for a moment. They have taught me to slow down, to trust life a little more, and to focus on what truly matters.
Horses have accompanied me throughout my entire life. As a child, the stable was my favourite place — a space of freedom, adventure, and endless hours outdoors in nature. What began as a passion also became a profession. I worked in various equestrian centres in Switzerland and abroad, taught riders, and had the privilege of accompanying many different horses on their journey. Over time, my own expectations grew. Between performance, perfectionism, and the desire to always do everything right, I lost a part of what had originally drawn me to horses. Today, they remind me again of the essence of what has fascinated me from the very beginning: presence, trust, and subtle, honest communication. Horses do not respond to what we wish to present, but to what we truly express.
Yoga also first came into my life through the body — as a balance to riding, travelling, and a generally active lifestyle. Over time, however, the practice became much more than movement. During a phase marked by inner restlessness, high expectations of myself, and constant travel, yoga became one of the few places where I did not have to perform, prove, or achieve anything. This experience eventually led me to India, where I was able to deepen my understanding of traditional yogic practice. A thought from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali has accompanied me ever since: Yogaś citta-vṛtti-nirodhaḥ — yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind. In a world that is often loud, fast, and full of distraction, this idea continually reminds me of what the practice is truly about: being more present in the moment, more clarity, and a deeper connection to myself. For me, yoga and horses complement each other in a very special way. Both invite us to be present. Both show us where we hold on, where we can trust, and where we may soften. Both remind us that true connection does not arise through control, but through awareness and openness.
In my classes and retreats, it is important to me to create a space where you do not have to perform or achieve anything. A space where you can meet yourself without judgement and without pressure. For me, yoga is not about perfection on the mat, but about the possibility of simply being more present. Asana, pranayama, and meditation are different ways of turning attention inward and reconnecting more consciously with ourselves. I hope that after a shared practice, people feel calmer, more connected, and a little more at home within themselves than before. Because for me, this is where the foundation for true connection begins — with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us.
Sound, Breath & Inner Reconnection with Mishka
Mishka accompanies our retreat with a special combination of sound journey and breathwork — gentle, deep, and immediately tangible.
Her path is shaped by her own experience with trauma, anxiety, and inner healing. From this depth, she has developed a practice over many years that connects body, sound, and consciousness.
Her sound journeys are invitations to listen inward: with the breath, with the heart, with every cell. Instruments such as singing bowls, gentle rhythms, and her clear presence create a space in which you can feel safe, held, and connected.
A special moment of our retreat is the session with Mishka at the horse farm — right in the meadow, surrounded by horses, wind, and silence. This session feels like a return to yourself. A remembering of what peace feels like.
Dance with Sandra Morrel
Sandra is a yoga teacher, dance educator, and body therapist. She has been teaching yoga and dance for many years and offers treatments in craniosacral therapy, holistic massage, and Gestalt therapy. Since 2003, she has been running the Ibiza Moving Arts Center, where we stay for this retreat. Her work focuses on integrating the whole human being on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level.
On one morning, she will lead a dance and movement session — a physical journey into your inner truth, where body and soul resonate in harmony. Every movement arises from a deep source of being and brings hidden treasures of the psyche to light. It is a dance of self-discovery, in which you release external influences and express your own essence. Every step, every gesture, every breath becomes an expression of the inner wisdom and beauty that resides within each of us. Through the dance of authenticity, you find not only freedom and expression, but also a deep sense of connection with yourself.
Horse Riding
Happiness lies on the back of horses. What could be more beautiful than exploring the wild and romantic north of Ibiza from the saddle? The retreat includes three rides not far from our finca.
This retreat is open to all riding levels and is also suitable for beginners. We divide the group into advanced riders (confident riding in all gaits required) and beginners (riding at walk only). Each group rides at a different stable. One stable is a 15-minute drive from the finca, the other about 20 minutes away.
The retreat includes three rides. We will organise the riding groups once all registrations are complete in order to take carpooling into account.
If you are unsure which riding group is right for you, feel free to send me an email and we will look at it together.
The maximum rider weight is 80 kg. Helmet is mandatory.
Food
Zuzanna will take care of our culinary experience. Her food is varied, healthy, and vegetarian. Most of it is organic, and much of it is grown directly on Ibiza. We are happy to accommodate your personal dietary wishes whenever possible (however, we need to know these before the retreat; please indicate them in the designated field during registration).
Transport & Car Rental
We recommend renting a car for your time in Ibiza, as all sights, beaches, and restaurants are spread across the island. Public transport is very limited, and taxis are very expensive. In particular, carpooling has proven to work well in the past (these carpools will be organised via a WhatsApp group before the retreat). This allows you to share the cost of the rental car, stay mobile, and independently visit beaches, the hippie market, or Ibiza Town.
If not enough participants have rented a car to get to the riding stable or La Paloma, a taxi will be organised, with the cost then shared among the participants.
Accommodation
Between olive groves and fig trees: our finca in Ibiza
Our finca is nestled in the gentle hills of northern Ibiza — between the villages of Sant Lorenzo and Sant Miguel — and is a retreat full of peace and simplicity. The over 400-year-old house has been carefully renovated, preserving its original character and authentic atmosphere.
The rooms are simple and rustic, each with its own charm — some with shared bathrooms, contributing to a communal and uncomplicated way of living. The kitchen is open to everyone and invites you to enjoy a cup of tea or a relaxed conversation.
We especially love the two yoga shalas — one outdoors, surrounded by the scent of wild herbs, and one indoors for quieter moments. The garden is natural and enchanted, with an organic saltwater pool that invites you to dive into stillness.
Those who seek simplicity, who love the magic of the essential, and who enjoy being part of a communal, nature-connected living space will quickly feel at home here.
